Transcona Trails Association Annual General Meeting

The Transcona Trails association is having its Annual General meeting on Tuesday April 25^th at 7:00 p.m. at the South Transcona Community Centre, 124 Borden Avenue. We are looking forward to having new people join our board. Covid protocols will be in effect.

Last year we installed stations to hold a second children’s book along the Transcona Trail book walk between Hoka Street and Winona Street. “Omar on Ice” and “The Golden Boy in the Case of the Missing Cube” are currently the books to read on the trail. The books will be changed in late spring. In 2021 we installed a park bench on the Flamingo Crossing trail and we will have another bench installed on the Transcona Trail this year.

New sections of paved trails have recently been built along Pandora Avenue and Devonshire Drive West, and in Canterbury Crossing. The city has plans to complete the Pandora Pathway from Wayota Street to Redonda Street. Following a request from a concerned local citizen, the city intends to install a crosswalk at the Transcona Trail crossing of Transcona Boulevard.

Future construction along Transcona Boulevard may result in changes in the Transcona Trail along there. Watch for City of Winnipeg open houses and surveys to be able to provide your input on the projects.
